It is an exceptionally large 1:6 scale model of the legendary Ferrari 500 Grand Prix Monoposto, produced by Toschi in Italy around 1952. Originally created as a presentation gift for Ferrari team members and selected dealers, the model boasts impressive detailing, with rubber tyres on metal spoked wheels and a removable upper body that once concealed a bottle of cherry liqueur. Once removed, it could be converted into a toy car powered by a rubber-band drive. Measuring approximately 53 cm in length, with attractive patina and a strong sense of originality, this is a rare and fascinating piece of Italian motoring history.
